4 Day train delay??!!!

Just watched One show. They had a 'Fun' quiz. Question: What was the longest train delay caused by the snow. 6hrs, 11hrs or 4 days. I said 6hrs thinking of the Seaford farce the other night. But they said 4 days.

Probably the winter of 1947 - I seem to remember hearing of rescue trains having to be rescued themselves!

There was a 3 day delay in the winter of 1963, just north of Dent station

The City of San Francisco was buired for 6 days and at least two plows were destroyed trying to get to it.

Not quite 6 days but during 'The Emergency' (as WWII was known in neutral Ireland) it was not unknown for trains to over a day to travel from Dublin to Galway as trains were running on turf due to low coal availability/quality.
