And what would the point be in replacing stock ideally suited for Semi fast services to the Airport with stock which was built for long runs at High speed? That would make no sense.

There is rumour that SET are going to start doing Victoria - Sheerness - Dover services again from 2009. The rumoured stock is 395 as well, otherwise it will be Electrostars.

Not too sure how true this is mind you.

No expert here, but would the 395 be able to take advantage of the high speed on the Heathrow Lines?

Its relatively short, and I highly doubt the speed is more than 100mph, which the Desiros can do anyway.

Top speed between Heathrow and London Padd is 125mph but not for far ...

If 395s do that Sheerness / Dover service, it will be out of St Pancras, not Victoria.
