East Grinstead requires diagrams/units 5/6 as each 10 car requires two diagrams.

I do know that one of the diagrams that was planned to go over to 377/6 was a peak splitter with units going to Tattenham and Caterham.

At some point the 377/6 will start working off peak alone as that's the plan from December.

My expectation turned out to be wrong !.

I saw 377606 and 377609 in service yesterday 17/10/2013. EDIT - BUT on separate services I forgot to say. Your making me worried about my eyesight !. Must admit I cannot believe they are now coming in that fast. This also makes me wonder where 377607 has gone as myself plus others saw it parked at Selhurst last week. No one seems to have seen it in service though for a while !. Mind you it was pointed out earlier in the thread that they wander back to Stewarts Lane sometimes. Think that was yourself ?.

I can imagine the joining/splitting of pairs is going to muddle things up so thanks for that info btw.

To recap that means I have seen :-

Your correct so we have 5 serviceable units and 3 on test. However its not been confirmed that 611 made it to Stewarts Lane as last recorded place was Wembley when it stayed there.

I've heard the original date for all 26 was 8th December and someone who gets info from Litchurch Lane has stated production on the 377/7 has halted to allow the remaining 377/6 to be sent to Southern. Just over 7 weeks until timetable change too.

They came down with first class area built in. Simple case of putting head rests and some stickers up. No reason why the stickers have to come down either,

Most trains only get a 7 min turnaround at London Vic/Bridge so I don't really see how they are going to clean/tank and fit First Class in that time. That's what I was getting. Same as the all other 377s currently regularly work Metro routes I don't see what the issue as its just a simple extension of what's been going on for years.

Finally someone agrees with me! Good lord that is the worst thing about those 456's... No legroom at all! Its a shame because the airline seats are quite nice and the seats are comfy.

A nightmare if you sit on the 3x3's with tall men over 6" who need the middle seats for their legs.

I know people will miss those units, but I can't say I ever liked them. SWT passengers who are used to their comfortable 455 units are in for a shock.

That's what they announced:

I travel on them daily now. Poorest performance this morning so far. Currently sat on 377606, inter unit door not working, PIS constantly scrolling"we are now at London Bridge", either no manual announcements or the speakers aren't working either.
Still, it's getting me there ??????

Well if the southerners dont like them we will have them in the north and you have the 319's. Try a northern train you dont even get PIS on most of them never mind one thats working.

To be honest I find PIS announcements annoying anyway so one that isnt working is bonus in my book.

Sorry, my comment wasn't meant as a negative in general. I really like them. Just a shame to have regular 377 issues continue on a brand new train.

The best bit about them is how quiet they are.

Willesden Brent (the yard between the WCML and Railnet to the south of the North Circular) was mostly usurped by Wembley Yard (the yard between the WCML and the Carriage Sidings north of the North Circular) during the 1990s. Brent Yard was only used for engineers trains after RfD and Transrail became part of the same empire (EWS) and became unmanned around 10 to 15 years ago; the only thing that goes in there these days is the very occasional DRS move.

Another one on its way.....66192 is currently en route from Bescot to Wembley with 377 620 - running about 90 minutes late on its booked time but should be at Wembley in time for the usual 08:30 path.

(Disclaimer; I have no idea if this move will be further delayed on its way south or if the final bit to Stewarts Lane will run today or not )

I notice delveries seem to be moving ahead on two fronts possibly. That is 377613 upwards and 377620 upwards. So does that denote two production lines ?. It might be settling down to two units delivered per week so with 15 to go (total 26 ?) that is 7 1/2 weeks which would be early December.
