Sorry if this has come up, but can the driver turn the camera light on and of!
I believe so, as I have seen some running without the light on.
EDIT: Nope

No you cannot. I certainly haven't been told or seen how to do it, and there is no reason to either.

Only reason is as I was pulling into mitcham junction the unit on the down the light switched off as I came around the corner and other units with it not on.
This screen grab was taken during testing. There's no third rail in the test pen.
Regarding location, the track debris illuminator is close to the ground, but the TD camera is on the non-driving side of the cab - to the top right corner. Picture below.

377624/377619 working 0800 Horsham-Norwood Junction (via Gatwick) today. Any reasoning for this? Was quite pleasantly surprised when it turned up on my train for work this morning!

Yesterday and today, 377321+377626 have been working together in passenger service. AFAIK this is the first time a 377/6 has worked with any other 377 in service.
I'm sure they ran with other 377s during testing, but this is definitely the first time in passenger service. Was pretty strange walking from one into the other!

Does anyone know why the 377/6's make a sound similar to the 313's whilst stationary?
Until recently the 377/6 sere not permitted to couple o the rest of the Electrostar fleet due to incompatible software. 377604 was coupled to 377311 for initial unit testing in case it failed with the commissioned unit being taking over from 311. This was achieved by putting the 377/6 software into 377311 with a software patch.
A377/6 with the rest of the fleet happened at London Bridge yesterday.
The ex-LBG 17:44 to East Grinstead was worked by a 377/6 & a 377/2. It was really weird seeing the two of them coupled together in Platform 9 with the differing door chimes and seating layouts.
Quite a few passengers looked very surprised firstly that it was only 9 coaches and secondly that half was a new unit & half was an "older" one.
I didn't have time to snap a pic due to the crowds & the train was slowly leaving.
The 377/6 are not compatible currently with the /1, /4 & /5 fleets. The /2s have now had the mods (bar Thameslink ones).
Is that so they can couple with the /7s if something happens on the WCML?
I'm almost certain I saw a 377/6 coupled to a 377/3 the other day. Would this have been right?
Is there a separate thread for the 456's or is that being discussed here?
