Spending many summer days spotting at Crewe in the 1990's 37408 became one of my favourites. I fondly recall seeing it on the Holyhead trains in its worn Scottie dog large logo livery. I also rememeber being gutted when it was repainted into EWS, i think it had just been put in this livery for the Toton open day in 2008. That was the first time i saw it anyway.

Can anyone confirm its last workings in the old livery and when it last performed on the Holyhead trains before repaint?

37408 was my favorite 37 too! This website gives a full list of her known workings http://www.c37lg.co.uk/fleet.aspx?strnumber=37408

She ran into stock suffering damage at Rhymney in 2005 whilst in EWS Colours. Looking through the info her last Holyhead was 1D62 0807 Birmingham NS - Holyhead and the 1251 return to Crewe on 27th April 2000 although I don't know what livery she was in at the time.

The Class 37 Group's website is your friend here! See http://www.c37lg.co.uk/fleet.aspx?strnumber=37408 for the loco's history. Looks like its final passenger working in Large Logo was on a Pathfinder tour on 24/01/98 (following the failure of 37403 earlier in the day) and its last appearance on the coast in this guise on 23/10/97.
