Heard, but was scarcely able to see, this service passing Linlithgow last night, and it sounded unusual compared with normal passing services. Anyone able to help with info, please?

37219 on a Network Rail infrastructure monitoring train. For anyone interested the proper headcode was 3Z35 and it was the UTU/SGT set.
