On Saturday I went from Rugby to Lichfield on 350118. For my return journey I had the misfortune to ride on the same emu. The misfortune being the state of the lavatories!

I boarded at Rugby with my two young boys and it wasn't long before one of them decided they needed the loo so I took them both to the nearest loo which was the one with disabled access. It was out of order! So I carried on walking down with my lads to the other loo. It was open so we went in. 3 people in this loo was an interesting experience but it was blocked and full up with urine sloshing around near the top. Good job only one of us needed comfort and little more than a dribble!

We departed and a couple of hours later boarded the same emu for the return journey. To cut a long story short the disabled access loo was still out of order and the other loo still blocked! Whilst not advocating graffiti I agreed with the sentiments of the person who wrote on the wall, "do these loos ever get serviced?" (or words to thst effect).

Very disappointing London Midland.

Seen this on some Cl170s, but it's usually just because successive users have failed to locate the flush button. Normally I just pop the seat down, flush and, a puff and a gurgle later, the toilet bowl is empty again and ready for use.

I don't know whether it's necessarily LM being bad for this or whether it's the same sociopath who uses LM and deliberately blocks the toilets. I've encountered exactly the same and raised it with the guard who locked the toilet out of service.

seen the lavs on the mk1&2 units in a lot worse state, i recall one lavvy on a fort william job back to queen street on a weekend trip to kill a box or two , i was desperate to squirt a bertie, it was full to top with excremment and water, i had no choice but to squat and chance, and then being rail staff and having keys on me i locked the lavvy up and told guard....that was by far the worst railway lavvy i have ever used...
