Can't find this elsewhere so here goes. Why were the 350/3's which were originally published as 350 301 to 350 310 changed to 350 368 to 350377?

They are numbered so that the last two digits of the unit number follow consecutively the other two batches of London Midland 350s:

350/1s: 350101 - 130
350/2s: 350231 - 267

350/3s: 350368 - 377

Thanks that makes sense.

Note that the 350/4 fleet is numbered 350401 - 410. Perhaps they'll become 350478 - 487 when transferred from TPE to LM in the future.

Or 411-420.

I believe they were originally to be numbered 478-487, but were later changed to 401-410, iirc.

Unique last two numbers per class perhaps was the aim?

That was what I meant, but wasn't specific. I expect it allows depot staff to refer accurately to unit XX with no possibility of accidentally mixing them up.

I doubt anyone would be so daft as to attempt to fit a part meant for a 350 on a 321...
