I heard some of the east coast trains were diverted via the west coast main line? What stations did they pass and are any still running that way?

Are you talking about the tyne valley diversions where every year maintenance takes place between Newcastle & Edinburgh via Berwick so trains run via Carlisle?

They were diverted via Carstairs (avoider), Carlisle to Newcastle.


Well in 1992 they were! ;)
