333 Design Flaw

Sorry if this has already been brought up but why have Northern allowed the 333s to have such a ridiculous toilet design flaw.?

There is no separate lock button, so that when you press the red close button upon leaving it automatically believes that there is someone inside the toilet.

Thus meaning it is out of use until you can flag down and find the guard to reset the toilet.

It really is a design flaw and one that has been here for a number of years now.

It's been like that since they were built the best part of 30 years ago, 333015 has a modification with a lock button to press

I seem to remember that the toilets on the 332s were the same. They had no separate lock button would lock out of use if you pressed the close button when exiting the toilet. So it seems like an issue with this entire family of trains.

What a ridiculous design flaw. I must confess, I’ve been aware of it for a number of years now but yesterday when getting on the train at Menston and needing the toilet, someone had clearly just come out and locked it out of use until I could find the guard to reset it.
