Last Friday (12th March) was at Victoria station about 10:50ish pm. Was by the South Eastern platforms looking for food, and saw a 319 in FCC colours sitting at platform 4/5 (was too far away to get a unit number or see how many were there).

My guess is it is something to do with the joint services they run, but anyone else know why it was there?

Your guess is most probably correct however I believe FCC do run services into Victoria someone correct me If I am wrong.

I posted a photo a few months ago (platform 1). I think trains are 'stored' there during the weekend shutdown from London Bridge to St Pancras.

As far as I am aware, there are no trains to Victoria in public service from FCC.

Yeah that would make sense, turning them around at London Bridge and running them along the South London line.
FCC don't run any services to Victoria, at least no passenger workings. I think you got confused because The trains that run joint between FCC/SE are run into Victoria on weekends, solely by SE.

I saw that unit also while heading for my coach (or what turned out to be 4 coaches) home from London after my FCC interviews, had me wondering whether my research had been complete enough on the locations FCC serve!!!

Selhurst depot used to put Thameslink 319s on Southern duties when they were short or the units were spare, sometimes I think they used extra Southern units on Thameslink to cover for them (not just the ones on loan).

I can't say if this still goes on now it's FCC.

As far as I am aware, no FCC driver is trained for the Victoria lines beyond Herne Hill and Streatham Common or on the South London Line beyond Peckham Rye, they certainly didn't when I worked down there, although a Southern driver could perform the move.

That would explain it if it was covering for a Southern Route from the Selhurst depot. But it was sitting in the SouthEastern platforms. But thanks for the information anyway!

Arn't there now some Southeastern services run by 319s, normally they run through the core to Kentish Town
