313 question

Hi,

Does anybody know what the letters “BI” on the front or rear of a 313 near the number as attachment means?

BI could be the depot allocation, in this case Brighton Lovers Walk. That fits perfectly with the unit number I guess.

Yep that is the depot code377/1's also have them.

although featured on some 377's, the 4 car southern fleet is no longer allocated to specific depots. The 5 cars used to be allocated to Selhurst, but some maintenance is carried out at Battersea now, IIRC the /3's are the only part of the fleet to be fully allocated to Selhurst now. All in all Southern were never really that strict with the depot allocation stickers, and the only reason they are fitted on the 313's is because the 313 team took it upon themselves to fit after returning from C6.
