Not causing any disruption to the ECML, suspect it is an ECS movement so it may cause FCC problems this evening.

Yup. Would have either been over the fence in the depot or carrying out a shunt over the flyover. Either way it would have been empty.

That track is not for passenger use. Hornsey Depot is right accross on the other side of the tracks.
This maybe part of Femme Park.

It's just by platform 2, it seems it just happened as only 2 hi-viz staff are near by and about 4 "public" on the platform about 10 feet away.

I saw a group of about 5 men wearing white shirts and ties walking towards the train, with very bright shinny hi-viz jackets. (not track workers)

Then if it's on the Ferme Park side it's probably the headshunt associated with the flyover. I haven't been over that way for a few years, but I can't think of any other sets of stops on that side of the station that a unit would be using.

That's the second derailment of a ECS in about a year's period for both routes, I'm sure the last one was a 319 at St Albans early last year.

It does indeed sound like it took place within the two sidings leading to/from the flyover, if anything it means FCC will be restricted to using the DS2 and the remaining siding to reverse their EMUs to access Hornsey EMUD via the flyover or Bowes Park Reversing Siding is going to see a lot more use which it ought to see.

Something has had a good go at the stops on the headshunt at Bow Olympic in the last few weeks. Stop board now protecting the metre or so gap in the rails.

The set must be the one to form the 22:41 to WGC as it is reported on the FCC website that this train is delayed due to overhead line problems.

I don't think it is for the 22:41, I say that because there was indeed overhead line problems earlier at Kings Cross when the OHL tripped, I believe one of East Coast's services was the culprit.

Plus you have to remember when you get delays for any reason you're going to get train crews running late and out of position.

All depots now sign the Inner Suburban services so a driver working a service to Peterborough having been delayed 10 or 15 minutes leaving Kings Cross is obviously going to be delayed on the return journey and if their next working means relieving a Letchworth via Hertford service at Finsbury Park then it means that service in turn will be delayed.
