3 Mile Train

I went on a journey down a road one day, and I had to wait at a level crossing for 3 years until a train had gone past. This would never happened if they hadn't sold off British Rail. And I'm still waiting for my share of the proceeds.

Still, it got me thinking of the day when what I believe was an A4 emerged very slowly from Gas Works Tunnel followed by twenty-six coaches, full and standing with evacuees and no banker!
