Are they more relaxed on allowing photos out there these days?

I didn't really have any hassle or get the impression anyone was unhappy. I was fairly discreet though - it's not like I was there with a big camera or tripod or anything.

The only time was when I was taking the pictures of the loco graveyard in Perrenjas - the policeman on board the train asked me to go back to my seat (although he seemed fine with me taking photos out the windows for the rest of the trip). I think he was maybe more concerned with the fact that the train was about to set off, than with what I was taking pictures of.

Is it something that was a problem in the recent past?
