Yesterday a hybrid 3-car 150 worked 1O98 (10.50 Great Malvern to Brighton) and 1V96 (16.59 Brighton to Bristol Temple Meads)

Is this the first time one of the 3-car 150s has ventured down to Brighton or has it happened before ?

Should add that it left on 1V96 full with a good few pax standing, showing how popular the service is. Also left a few minutes late because of an AWS problem.

As already mentioned they appear from time to time on this service. They also appear on the Portsmouth to Cardiff runs.

The 150/9s are an abvious choice on the busy Potsmouth & Brighton routes if a 3 Car 158 is not available. They may not be as comfortable but, at least, better than an overcrowded 2 Car

A 3 car class 150? Was the middle carriage a 150/2 cab unit?

There are 2 of them, 150/1s with odd toiletless 150/2 vehicles in between which lost their partners over the years due to mishaps and written off. They operated in this manner when with London Midland before moce to FGW last year. They are numbered as 150/9s, i.e. 150921 and 150927
