On a Sunday night, there is a service (https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:C22770/2026-07-05/detailed) which only goes from London Kings Cross to Finsbury Park, then runs ECS to Hornsey Depot. I find this odd because all other ECSs to Hornsey run straight from Kings Cross. So why make this service different? Thanks :)

It’s a throwback to when Moorgate services used to run into King’s Cross in the evenings and at weekends. Seems there is deemed to be a requirement to preserve a connection into the inner-suburban service. The service has existed in various forms I think ever since the inners went to Moorgate at all times of day.
