Is this bus ever a train?(I do NOT mean a Pacer!) I've only ever seen it as a bus, and, nearly 3 hours to get to Preston is frankly ridiculous, especially at that time of night!

Its been a bus service for over a year and will continue until new timetable in December 2013.

It's a side effect of the Liverpool - Manchester/Wigan electrification. Until the Wigan half of it is complete, it is almost certainly going to continue to be a replacement bus.

hock: I wish i had known that before buying gig tickets for the Liverpool O2 on sat 9th Nov. I checked, nothing said bus replacement. 23:02 Liverpool Lime St(LIV) to Euxton Balshaw Lane(EBA) 23:59, then a walk to Chorley (CRL), i thought. Drat and double drat.
