Interesting. I wonder if this is going to be permanent or if it was just a one off.

According to an anonymous source who told someone else on the WNXX forum, it could be a regular thing in the future so as to allow strengthening of the Stansteds as far as Cambridge.

Personally I'd rather see it as a Voyager on the Stansteds throughout, although I hear p2 at Stansted can't take 4-car trains.

It can't and the other platforms are mainly for the stansted expresses.

Well other people on there are now suggesting that it won't be happening soon. Still, stranger things have happened!

It was a one off, but may happen again. There is a spare Voyager at New Street most days, and providing they have a spare ex Virgin traincrew it can do certain trips. The ex Central Traincrews do not sign Voyagers, and on the Guards side there are currently no plans to.

It cannot go passed Leicester as Voyagers do not have SDO (selctive door opening) so it wouldn't be able to stop at Meltom/Stamford. As for stengthening Stansteds, there is nothing in the December TT diagrams.
