Has anyone else noticed that on the UkRailtours website, the diary dates have completely disappeared? Could the end be near or am I overthinking this?

I don't think things are that bad just yet, some class 99 was in there but I'm guessing training isn't up to speed yet so they have been put back

They've put another tour on sale today and there is still one on the Diary Dates. 2 of the 4 Diary Dates they had listed were tours using 99s which have presumably been postponed as the locos are not going to be ready for them in time. I would say you are overthinking it, yes!

These track bashing ones always sell well
It is essentially a traction tour, not a track bashing one. It is unlikely to be the track that people are booking for. The route is somewhat determined by where the depots / stabling points are - eg Toton, Leeds, Doncaster, and avoiding reversals, as the 57 sits on the back.

This goes back to what was in the thread the other day, the old Merrymaker jollies with 57/67 (or whatever) and stock just doesn't seem to sell / attract as well these days as a crank filled jolly.

The 31 dropping on was enough to convince me to book onto it :D
I’m on it just for the hoover entertainment
The original 20’s were a side show
Must admit I’m excited about the thought of 31128 & whatever Nemesis throw at us
(Was hoping for 45112 but happy to settle for the 73

I couldn’t tell you wether the mk3 set has a kitchen.
The advert says a well stock buffet car & there’s no first class dining available

To be honest, I am happy with all of the traction involved and it's great to see that there are sensible people about who will still do tours involving their favoured traction even when there are other classes involved as well. I will never get my head around the old school thinking of refusing to do a train because it is not your preferred traction throughout in 2026 when there is such limited chance to get behind certain locos!

But yes, I am looking forward to this one (not so much the early drive to East Mids Parkway) for many reasons - varied traction and a venture in behind the line of stock adjacent to the running lines at Nemesis to name a couple :D

I suspect that is at least partly down to relative prices. I recall three occasions when I used (then) HRT's 'Merrymaker' excursions to make single journeys, because I wanted to go that way on that day and the Merrymaker fare was cheaper than the (then) BR single fare, as well as being a more interesting ride (London - York twice and London -Durham once). At that time the HRT 'Merrymaker' fare was generally cheaper than a day return by service train for most of their destinations. Their 'Forgotten Tracks' freight line tours and luxury dining services were more costly, as might be expected

Luckily I’m only 20 mins from East Mids Parkway from Ashby-De-La-Zouch
Still, as you say an early alarm call!
Did think about waiting until just after 9am to join it but never had a 31 or 20 to Bedford or a 50 back up the Midland Mainline so it’s an early start.

Superb weekend (Well Fri/Sat) on the 125 Group HST on the UKR tours, everything seemed to run pretty much perfectly apart from some ARS type regulation it seemed in the Welwyn area on the return yesterday. "Good" to see another train with passengers do EWR, before any actual service trains go there, highlights what a mess it all is.

Tangents finished, great weekend, set seemed a credit to the 125 Group with next to no issues and the buffet seemed to do very well as had to have an extra restock on the way on the Saturday. Spot on stuff.
