Cue some pedant going "Excuse me, I think you'll find that the last steam train on BR was the Vale of Rheidol"
or more importantly, Scots Guardsman and Oliver Cromwell aren't afaik, in ticket, the latter not having boiler in the frames! Not seen Galatea out and about of late either?

They did advise roughly 7:30-8
Provisional timings released for Summer Riviera. Bury hotels aren't bad for people not driving!

That will be my case, not the worst timings I’ve come across though

Just seen a timetable for a HST railtour (operated by Railadventure on the day) from Doncaster to Kings Cross then to Derby (via Donny again) on Friday 17th, ECS set seems to come in from ELR, will this be a 125 Group tour or something else, and what power cars will most likely be in it? Here are all the schedules for the day:
3Z42 - https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=U88784&d=2026-07-17
1Z43 - https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=U88785&d=2026-07-17
5Z44 - https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=U88786&d=2026-07-17
5Z45 - https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=U88787&d=2026-07-17

It’s a private charter using the 125 Group set. Power cars should be 43025 and 43159.

What is this tour on the 26th may I ask?
There was a tour to Ayr advertised for this coming Saturday with 45118 but it was only briefly on the website.
Had an interesting route as well, starting at Waverley then picking up at Inverkeithing, round the Fife Circle to Dunfermline then onto Alloa, Stirling, across Glasgow and down to Ayr.

Oh that’s a shame, would have done that

I'd like Hastings Diesels to re-run the Long Thin Drag.

Given they've reached Bonnie Scotland this year, it's perhaps not as far fetched as it sounds.
