Thanks for the update. It's been a busy week with Accurascale announcing their OO 142 (rumoured to be the unfinished RealTrack project)...
My guess is a re-tooled Turbostar.

It is apparently, although wasn’t this previously announced but then disappeared?

They'd hinted in a previous announcement about a "delayed Turbostar"- something they revisited at the start of this latest announcement. Video linked below:

I'm slightly surprised there isn't a 4-car pack in the initial offering, as one of the engineering samples they showed running was a 4-car set. Though I dread to think what the asking price of that would be!

Seeing as the 2 car is £350 and 3 car is £470, I’d wager on £590 for a 4 car set! These are the DCC Ready RRP. Seeing as a DCC ready Accurascale Electrostar is £500, they do seem a tad pricey.

Rails od Sheffield have 2 cars at £300 and the 3 cars at £400 so I would say your £500 guess is about right

I would like a Scotrail 3 car myself but... £400. Ouch.

Add another £80-100 if you want sound...
I'm glad I've put down a hard stop on buying anything post privatisation, as I do like 170s in 1:1 scale. If Bachmann were offering some "what if?" liveries that assume privatisation didn't happen (for example a 170/171 in NetworkSouthEast colours), I'd be very tempted...
I'd probably still wait and try and get a bargain at a show once they came out though!

I do hope Farish follow suit in N with some of these liveries, even if it is just a re-release using their existing (ancient) tooling. There have been many complaints about the retail price of these - rightly so - but my second-hand SWT 170 is an excellent runner nevertheless and certainly looks the part on the layout. I really would like a Southern example to accompany my 73 but they're like hen's teeth nowadays!

Bachmann have just released their Summer Announcements video on YouTube.
N gauge modellers will no doubt welcome the update to the Farish Class 20, with Scottish examples being the latest models... and an update to the tooling to allow sound fitting.
For OO, there's a bit more detail on the 170s that were announced recently, along with a couple of kettles and an update on the Club Exclusive 69.

Really? It’s got a really plastic-y finish compared to the Hornby model.

New round here but I’m glad that Southern are being covered in OO gauge. I have 2 of the Limited edition southern class 171’s from bachmann released years ago. Will be an interesting comparison. Do we reckon the value will drop for the original limited edition 171 when the new Turbostars release?

Also, here’s a pretty good AI picture of Accurascale’s Electrostar because why not?

3 have sold on eBay since the start of the year, for £182, £274 & £350. Obviously, the higher priced ones shouldn’t happen anymore, however I’d still expect them to sell for a decent price, seeing as the new version is £300. The new release may well reignite interest in them, with the older version being a more cost effective variant. Even if you pay £200 for the old version, you’ll still save £100. The old model has held up pretty well, especially if you’re not a DCC user.

Accurascale's next big project... Unfortunately the 33s were just a tease!

Makes sense in some ways to do a 58 though, with the acquisition of Heljan. Heard mixed reviews of the Heljan one over the years, but it's probably due an upgrade by now.

Circling back to the new turbostars, I also find it funny that they showed off that they've also made a version with the tripcocks that the 168s use yet didn't announce any 168 liveries!
