UK removed all it’s diary dates beyond 3 October and I do wonder if they are heading towards the disappearing companies thread.I did notice it was on Uk railtours website but it’s not now, did BLS take it?

I really hope not but it could happenUK removed all its diary dates beyond 3 October and I do wonder if they are heading towards the disappearing companies thread.
Book on it too, didn’t opt for the freight tour, hoping to get out on the hst and see SNG and the Northern BelleBooked on for the Saturday tour, a good high speed run up the ECML and plenty of track bashing in the Central belt sounds good to me!
Got accommodation too, not many decent places to stay in DoncasterThe tour on the Friday in December must rank as one of the poorest value for money tours of recent times. £47 for a one-way trip lasting 91 minutes along the boring ECML (£75 for a slightly nicer seat in 1st class). Yes I know it's the ECS positioning move opened up for 'charity' but it's a bit plain.
I've book accommodation for that weekend tour in November, although I haven't yet booked the tours.
I've got a room in a shared house around a mile from the station in the Hexthorpe area, which will be good enough for my needs. Although I can't believe how much it is for dining on the Saturday train (£499!), even first class is £289 [although I gather from the info you do get some snacks & drinks for that amount]. That excludes the extra fee for wanting to do the add-on tour (which I would imagine could feature a Freightliner 90)Got accommodation too, not many decent places to stay in Doncaster
You can compare it to other 'events' like a seat at a premium league football match for the same amount of time and it could end up being a boring 0-0 draw! The tour on the Friday in December must rank as one of the poorest value for money tours of recent times. £47 for a one-way trip lasting 91 minutes along the boring ECML (£75 for a slightly nicer seat in 1st class). Oh interesting, dining is horrific price, LSL tours and a few northern belle and Belmond Pullman tours are cheaper than this, can’t see many takers for it, I’d probably book the Saturday tour if I were you now, first class table for 2 is already sold outI've got a room in a shared house around a mile from the station in the Hexthorpe area, which will be good enough for my needs. LSL tours with steam are cheaper?? What do you get? Caviar and Lobster? Unlimited Champagne?Oh interesting, dining is horrific price, LSL tours and a few northern belle and Belmond Pullman tours are cheaper than this, can’t see many takers for it, I’d probably book the Saturday tour if I were you now, first class table for 2 is already sold out
Yes LSL steamers are 465 or 485 depending on the tour, and I’d considering them a lot better with mk1s and food etcLSL tours with steam are cheaper?? What do you get? Caviar and Lobster? Unlimited Champagne?
Dont forget about the polar express specials as wellBook on it too, didn’t opt for the freight tour, hoping to get out on the hst and see SNG and the Northern Belle
Yes, quite the difficulty now, I don’t know where I can see all three on the move at the same placeDont forget about the polar express specials as well
I would imagine you will have time at KX, Finsbury Park might be tight but you can tryHi All,
Slightly random question! Looking at doing the Snowflake tour in December. never done a BLS Tour (in fact only my second railtour, first being Hastings Diesels, but anyway!)
It asks where I want to join and alight. Now I have a hotel near Finsbury Park, with Underground connection to Kings Cross (it goes Finsbury park, then out to Kings Cross).
Not sure the best start / finish point, as would like to get pics of the locos where possible, probably at Kings Cross, but not sure of arrangements? Once on, are you on for the journey? Will I be able to get some pics of the 99 at Kings Cross if I board at Finsbury Park? (or KX if I board there?)
Thanks!
I’d imagine you’d have time to get a photo of the 47 at King’s Cross then walk up to the other end to photograph the 99 before boarding. I highly doubt it will arrive at King’s Cross then depart within 2 minutes or something like that! King’s Cross is also a joining point so it will take a few minutes to get everyone on before departing. Providing you don’t take ages getting your first picture, then walk straight up to the other end to get your second picture, I’d say you’d be absolutely fine!Hi All,
