The way to London wasn't much better.

Unfortunately after having so much pathing time all the way, we were delayed just outside Leeds and many people including myself missed connections.
While the manner of the delay is unfortunate, it is extremely unwise to expect a railtour to make a 10 minute connection, especially at such a large station. It’s fairly normal for tours to run late, and I’d personally always allow 30minutes to an hour for late running and aim to have a plan B.

It wasn't too bad for me as I only had a 15 minute wait. I live one stop/8 minutes from Leeds. Still funny that after such a slow path that should have been about an hour faster each way, the delay was right outside Leeds.

The circular tour to Cardiff looked amazing. No more future trips announced on the website yet.....

Anyone on-board today's trip, was there any mention of any planned outings in the months to come?

I'm hoping for another jaunt up to Inverness and Kyle in the Winter.

Great day out and really well organised

They mentioned “see you again soon on another InterCity tour” several times on the Pa, but not any specific plans.

Whilst the tour was marked as fully booked there were a number of spare seats and coach X (a mark III) was marked as closed in addition to the usual mark II they use for staff, so I’m guessing there weren’t enough sales to open it - there was nothing wrong with it and it was next to G which we were in.

Might be a case of use it or lose it, and before anyone brings up the cost a) I think it was great value and b) their costs will be as high as ever.

Intercity always mark their tours as fully booked after the allocations and the tickets have gone out, they aren't interested at all in pay on the day fares, I didn't do this Monday's tour because for me I simply thought it was overpriced for what it was doing and that included the Celtic, let alone the tour it turned into, hopefully there will be a peak tour to Scotland in the new year, they might have enough work to do on the landcruse side of things for the rest of the year

I'd rather like it if they re-ran the Euston - Kings Cross trip they did early this year. That was an absolute bargain and lovely day out, even if the pathing was a little too relaxed for a 110mph set (not helped by signallers routing freights in front either!).

Agreed - a great day out - I booked to go on it when D9000 was originally advertised and only stuck with it after hotels were booked!. I'm glad I did it as it was genuinely really good - is there any news on what's wrong with D9000?
