Took the opportunity to do Bow Junction to Gas Factory Junction yesterday. I did originally try to get the 1326 from Stratford but because of a points failure it waa diverted. So went back later and did the 2026

If anyone who does Quail level wants a rare crossover, at the moment everything up from the Clapton line is crossing across through platform 3 at Hackney Downs.

Seems to be emergency engineering works in platform 1 at the moment.

I can't remember if I've done it in the past, but the 0915 from Doncaster (Scarborough to Sheffield) went via Thrybergh Junction on Saturday morning.

Watford Junction - St Albans Abbey

Technically I had done this line back 26 years previously in June 1998 on Pathfinders 'Slug & Slog' which was the warm up for the same days 'Birthday Bash' in the dead of night with 73128+73131 and 47245.

However this was the first time I had done the line 'properly' - a) in daylight, or b) with appropriate traction (in this case it was 350256.)

My only previous foray onto the Merseyrail network was on 28th March 1987, where, as a fill in move on a trip from Newcastle to Liverpool, I did Lime St to Hamilton Square and back in order to get "travelling under the Mersey" in the book. Yesterday I added slightly more of the network:

Hamilton Square to Ellesmere Port
Hooton to Chester
Hamilton Square to New Brighton
Birkenhead North to West Kirby
Liverpool Central to Southport
Sandhills Junction to Headbolt Lane

I ran out of time, so the Ormskirk and Hunt's Cross branches will have to wait for another day.

In addition, I covered Huyton Junction to Springs Branch Junction (the line through St. Helens Central) on the way back home.

My yellow pen has been doing overtime!
