Well I arrived at Watford from Clapham and nothing much was moving, so ended up taking a southbound Overground to intercept 374 which I saw heading south earlier when I was on the 377. Got back to Watford and things were starting to move getting me further north (on a rather cosy 9 coach Pendo)

A reasonably pleasant trip from Reading to Rochdale, only one train late (Smethwick GB to Stafford 5 minutes late, which as 350410/370 left Birmingham 6 late was reasonable). The pair of 222s from Oxford to Banbury were crowded, but 20 mins stood in a vestibule was more than compensated by the following Chiltern service being a very comfortable and sparsely occupied Mark 3 take, taken up to Moor St by a rather noisy 68015). The various other services operated by Great Western, London Midland/West Midland, Iarnrod Cymru* and the much maligned Northern were all pleasant and had seats available...

(*Or whatever they call themselves these days: my Elvish is rusty!)
