I wanted to go for 197112 as well, but I have a parcel due and I have lots of things to do in Hereford. So it will have to wait!

From my trip to Scotland.

13/7:
171808 (East Croydon - London Bridge) (Just one more to go for the renumbered 3 coach 171 units)

14/7:
92020 (Carstairs - Edinburgh Waverley) [Which I believe is my last of the sleeper modified 92s]

Cleared for a mile:
Edinburgh Trams 266 & 270

16/7:
801202 (Edinburgh - London Kings Cross) [Do I get a bonus tick for having it on diesel power, lol ?] Always nice when a required Azuma pops up on a booked train move, even if said train was nearly 2 hours late into London.

Cleared for a mile:
Edinburgh Trams 273 (which was my last Edinburgh Tram to get for a mile, got extremely lucky as I had just finished a walk to Ingliston P&R from Dalmeny, and it was on the first tram towards Edinburgh. Saved breaking out the deckchair at somewhere like Balgreen.

Finally cleared the 3-car 165s :D 6 more 165s to go, hopefully they will get done before the end of the year!

Oh, and I've finally done Bicester Village's shopping centre. A weird little curiosity, I'd been hoping to get some new trainers while there but the only thing I bought in there was a coffee  Next time I do Bicester it'll be for an explore of the area on foot/cycle!

Is it Chiltern 165s you still need?

Is it a thing to 'clear' a unit for 10+ miles? That doesn't sound very difficult to me.
Each to there own. Some people count units they haven't even traveled in. Others count DVTs for, well, something or other.

Correct :) My wants list for 165s is down to the below:

165011/015/017/022/023/025

I must admit, each time I see a bike on a 197 (I see quite a few) I often wonder if it's "Blue Beauty" ;)

Well she won't be on another train by the looks of it, unless I can get a new rear wheel for her. Got the new tyre and something's broke in the hub, so she's not useable still :( If no new rear wheel can be sourced, then she's permanently out of commission :(

I'm clearly missing something, so I've got to ask why that might be?

165025 has been used as a spares donor at Aylesbury and has been out of traffic for almost 18 months with no immediate prospect of returning to service.

I think 025 is the unit which was the prototype for a new greener drive system which has come to a stop due to the company doing the work going out of business

165004 is the unit part-way through hybrid conversion although the work has not stopped due to anyone 'going out of business'.

I've had a rather busy day with my red pen, quite surprised how much I got done considering it wasn't meant to be a red pen day!

20/07/2023

197110 (first 197/1)

331007
331018 (last two 331/0s, working together :D )

Manchester Metrolink M5000 trams:

3125
3127
3133
3138

6 more M5000s to go, including 3027 if that thing ever works again!

165004 is the one at WABTEC Doncaster. It happens to be my last 2 car 165/0 to ride.

Yes, I'm aware of that, it was at Loughborough before being roaded to Donny. Don't hold your breath if you need it for 'haulage'.

3027, together with 3005 and 3099 are the three I've not been on since 01/01/2021.

Edit - Wrong topic (trust me to have multiple windows open at once!)

I need a good red pen day in Cheshire again, to rope in some of the 3 coach units. Shame Chester - Frodsham is a margin short of 10 miles [something like 9 miles 78 chains]
