2023 Elizabeth line fares

Is there anywhere I can find the increased fare for Zone 1 - 9 on the Elizabeth line? All the articles discussing it link to a table that doesn't include fares with the Elizabeth line surcharge.

Where are you proposing to travel from and to? Have you queried the TfL single fare finder?

To my knowledge Elizabeth line uses the national rail fare scheme rather than TfL's normal fares within a zone. The fare for Zone 9 to Amersham is currently £7.50 but to Brentwood (also Zone 9) it's currently £9.10. I can only find the new fares for the TfL rate (i.e. where £7.50 is the current price). TfL's single fare finder just shows me the current price at the moment, I can't see anywhere to get the new fare unless I'm being blind :P

Interesting, thanks. I remember the 'red and green' map of TfL vs LU fares a while back and had no idea it had become this complicated. For reference, the journey I am making each day is Brentwood - Kings Cross St Pancras tube, or St Pancras International Thameslink, both of which at least come out the same price.

This is actually simpler than it was even a year or so ago - there used to be two National Rail fare scales, depending on whether the operator of services on the line in question accepted Oyster voluntarily before being forced to in 2009!

These have now been merged into "one" NR scale, but unfortunately there is still the TfL-Anglia scale bodge.

Unfortunately, for the third year running, the DfT has decreed that new National Rail fares won't be made public ahead of time.

This is frustrating for both passengers and staff, as you can imagine.

From Maryland eastwards, only Zone 1 fares are charged at the standard TfL rate and I think if you're going through Z1 to West/NW London). Local fares are charged at a slightly higher rate to protect the revenue of Greater Anglia but less than the standard NR fare. (The same fare scale is also used on London Overground services from Liverpool Street).

Even if I travel from Forest Hill to Ilford for example, I also get charged the higher rate as the default fare is via Whitechapel or Stratford missing Z1.

But it's not that difficult to take the current fare, apply a 5.9% increase to give the new fare. The 5.9% increase isn't a secret.

5.9% is the increase in regulated fares. Based on previous experience, there are likely to be some unregulated fares that increase by more than 5.9%
