Well, here we go again, another year... While I don't expect there will be much activity for the first couple of months, there are members amongst us who either live next to lines or who work on the railway, or have essential reasons to travel... so the usual thread is here, ready and waiting.

I'm new to this thread. Based in the south east and a fairly frequent visitor to the London travel card zones, so fairly up to date with the London "metro" stock.
I only record the physical unit I'm travelling in, not those trailing behind but can change units via the platform at a designated stop if required. (my rules).

11 July
A trip to the coast netted an unexpected 166 on the return. I hadn't realised GWR were serving Brighton again.

My first post here this year, so a bit of a catch up... I've scored 9 'main line/ex BR' locos this year so far:
May - 2999 (or 4942 if you prefer) at SVR.
June - 57006 on a WCRC part fare, 37263 at Telford
July - 66044, 66053, 60065, 70011, 70019 and 66137 on BLS weekend tour.

Fingers crossed I will beat last year's offering of 11 new in the book (which compared with 44 in 2018 and 23 in 2019) - although to be honest, I'm reasonably pleased with how I've done since the pandemic kicked in.

I'll post some unit comments another time.
