Complications or more serious symptoms can appear five to ten days after infection in elderly or those with underlying conditions, and Trump fits both those categories. I can't see him leaving Bethesda until medical staff are confident he's beaten it.

His personal doctor did a press conference and introduced nine other specialists looking after him. Two of them were pulmonary care, I think. Interesting. Anyway, you can’t say he isn’t getting value for his tax dollars

There seems to be considerable confusion about what his condition actually is, such as conflicting accounts on whether he was given oxygen. When that happened with Boris it turned to be much worse than most people had been led to believe.

There has just been clarification from his doctor on when he was actually diagnosed
It's likely five or six days before we'll know how bad his symptoms will get.

When I saw his doctor's update, I smelled a rat. It was just too upbeat, and he seemed to keep remembering things he 'had' to say, as they came across quite unnaturally. Also Trump has been very quiet on Twitter, which is unlike him (one came out this afternoon, but that's it).
Given all his other hidden health complaints that are rumoured, plus the contradictory messages coming from the White House, definitely the impression is that it does not seem plain sailing for him.
It's going to be an interesting week, that's for sure. This is not something America needs right now.

It would be an easier goal for the Democrats if they had anything even closely resembling a healthcare policy to offer. As it stands, it'll be harder to portray The Donald as the bad guy when he's been somewhat humanised in the eyes of the public by catching the virus.
They do. It's colloquially known as Obamacare. And it's hugely popular - even with a large proportion of Republicans (as long as you call it the Affordable Care Act).

A more appropriate nickname for it would be Romneycare. It's a fudge designed to protect the vested interests of the insurance industry. Still millions of uninsured workers in the US, whilst every other Western democracy has some form of universal healthcare.

Yes, but Trump has a case (or two?) filed with the Supreme Court to strike it down. So the message of "we're not taking your healthcare away from you" is still powerful.
It was probably (or perhaps that should be "I hope") made up but I always recall an interaction along the lines of "I'm voting Trump so he can get rid of that awful Obamacare, we don't need it as I've got that Affordable Care Act insurance".
I believe the offer is they won't get rid of it which is not a certainty as time goes on with the Republican's in charge.
That number has, of course, fallen from somewhere around 50m uninsured Americans to around 25m uninsured which isn't exactly something to sniff at. As for Universal Healthcare that is one of many things that the US lacks that would be considered unacceptable in many other countries (not just Western democracies!) but I think that's going to be a much longer and more involved fight. It will probably, for a start, require addressing a raft of structural issues within their system of Government to begin with.
I definitely saw an interview with someone saying something similar.

I have lived in the USA for nearly 20 years. God I miss the NHS (yes I know it isnt perfect). Some of the astronomical bills I have had you would not believe - and I have insurance!
I am sure that in future - possibly not my lifetime, that if some candidate came up with a healthcare bill that had very broad overall support from both parties it would be a winner. It may over time need tweaking. Even Obamacare (ACA) has an element that not even Trump will repeal - preexisting conditions. Everyone apart from the insurance companies are happy about that. I would love insurance companies to be taken out of the loop completely. I think Obama wanted that but knew it was a step too far.

It seems that this last seven days has seen a substantial widening of the pre election polling in favour of Biden. Not that I'm a massive believer in polls (see 2016).. but now even Arizona has moved against Trump. That's quite something.
I heard that earlier and was also surprised.
Assuming the next debate is moderated in a different way (I nominate @ainsworth74 for that role

Even if he's considered fit enough to debate Biden again he's already said he won't agree to any new debate rules. Trump just can't help himself.
That said I'd be a bit surprised if another Trump and Biden debate went ahead at all. Sorry @ainsworth74 , I fear you won't get your chance at tv stardom this year
