Today I convinced myself that I saw some 2009ts Cars at Northfields Depot. ANybody got any Ideas.

Not as far as I know.
They don't fit in the tunnels between the Piccadilly and Victoria lines either.

They are indeed at Northfields at present and are a real hodgepodge of colours.

I went back to Northfeilds yesterday and yes it appears they were ex-Aldwych branch cars

Also in Northfields are (or were) the Cravens units, the current Track Recording Train and the new Tube Lines Asset Inspection Train!
No need to be rude - the original question was about 2009 stock possibly being at Northfields, and when Oracle suggested ex-Aldwych stock he certainly wasn't suggesting that they were 2009 stock. He knows a hell of a lot more about Underground stock than you do or appear to be giving him credit for!

I used to commute past Northfields Depot from summer 1974 to late 1981 and saw all manner of stock at Northfields Depot: 1960 Stock, 1973 experimental thyristor units, CO/CP and R Stock, 1938 Stock with 10306 the sunshine car... and L12. Probably mainly used on testing on the 'test track' between Northfields and Acton Town. I saw 1973 Stock as it arrived including the double-ended units for the Aldwych shuttle. So, I can say that In have been around a while! I have of course also been Editor of UndergrounD magazine...and I chose shots of stock in unusual locations for the magazine.
I suggested the 1972 Stock as it has of course been sent to Northfields for the second time in recent years in order to make way for the 1938 Stock LTM train which is probably still at Aldwych?

Nowhere was it said that we were talking about 72TS, but yes, 4 cars of 1972TS (with modified seats and one end painted red for filming) are currently at Northfields, and the 38TS is in Aldwych.
They transfered after hours on two different nights a couple of weeks ago - 38TS as 00:20 Ealing Common to Aldwych and the 72TS as 05:25 Aldwych to Northfields. Both had train number 500.
Jamaal, so you know for the future, this is a unrefurbished 72TS:

You tell me not to be rude, but you seem to be quite rude yourself by implying I have no knowlege about LUL - you must be amazing to be able to tell things about someone by a few words on the internet...

I have kniown Gavelex on another Forum, and have deepest respect for him. No offence was taken. I should have made it clearer that I was aksing whether the OP had in fact seen the 1972 Stock instead?

Yeah I do know what un-refurbished 1972 Stock look like. I said that I went back to Northfields and that it was not 2009TS.

The 72TS that left 'the branch' was actually numbered as 555 and the 38TS started at Ruslip depot and went via Ealing Common depot, but nice photos

There is also an 1973 TS in Ruislip Sidings, been there for about a week now.

You mean the one next to the Metropolitan line? Or the depot?
Piccadilly line trains reverse there though!

Correct about it being 555, both moves were numbered that it seems.
And the Ruislip - Ealing and Ealing - Aldwych were timetabled as seperate moves. So yes, the train started at Ruislip but the trip started at Ealing... Oh how LUL make things complex for the sake of it...
