I have just realised that it is two years today since I got in to this Train Sim Hobby I installed Microsoft Train Simulator on my system 10/10/2005 I had come across it will looking for some system disc's, I had been given it as a Christmas Gift in 2002, but due to lack of time mainly because of the pressures of work & a quite active social life, Never got around to try it more than briefly & I can say I was not that well impressed, so when a windows crash occurred more than likely I never reinstalled.
But finding it now I was curious & I had noticed with out any particular interest that various Add on's had been produced over the ensuing years . & Now in the middle of A spell of Long term illness with loads of unwanted spare time on my hands; I decided to give it another Go I installed the Basics & found a Few up Dates on the home site & then I got curious.
I did a Google search something like British Engines for MSTS & I got pointed to Vern's TRAINSIMUK.ORG s Site & UKTS and as they say the rest is history
I registered for UKTS on 10-10-05 & downloaded my first File @00:30 Hrs on 11-10-05 an NIR Loco
I followed this up by purchasing several add ons & my first UKTS Cd's(Scottish Central & Ballyshannon) & I was also the last customer for Vern's Site as It closed on the Day I bought his 5 route CD
Since then I have download over 10,000 files & had almost 200 Activities published world wide.
It has also re kindled my interest in railways in general & I have also re newed by keenness for Railway Photography all thanks to MSTS
