Are the engineering works on 2 and 3 November affecting Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough to York services scheduled to go ahead? The TransPennine Express website says that they are, National Rail's website says that they are between Newcastle and Darlington but not between Darlington and York (and still has closures between Darlington and York up, which might just be an oversight) and looking at Real Time Trains services are generally operating as normal (but showing trains and RRBs between Northallerton and Saltburn).

The NRE page for York-Newcastle says:
Engineering work scheduled to take place between York and Darlington has been cancelled, and will not take place.
Trains will run normally between York and Darlington.
The NRE page you linked refers to the Thornaby area work (which is evidently happening) not Newcastle-Darlington direct.

I would assume that the TPE diversions to Darlington have not yet been input, hence still showing as running to Saltburn as well as buses.

Thank you. When I looked at the LNER app earlier, I could see fares for CrossCountry and TPE trains between Newcastle and York, but only for LNER rail replacement buses.

Looking again at RTT it seems that trains were being diverted via the York Avoiding Lines, and that LNER and GC revised times are online but not XC or TPE. I predict the situation will be resolved before long :)
