1611 from Leeds delayed at platform due to "safety checks".

Leaves platform only a few mins before the 1640 departure and has now just left Wakefield a full hour down delaying everything behind it.

Partner is sat on the 1640 doing his nut in, especially given he could have got the 1640 Northern service via Barnsley instead (only going to Sheffield).

Heat related delay or something else? If the train wasn't fit to carry on at Leeds it should have terminated there.

AIUI. The unit (220008) activated the onboard Hot Axle Box Detector (HABD) approaching York. This caused the loss in time onwards to Leeds. Fitters attention was required to the unit at Leeds delaying it again, and further delays were accrued between Leeds and Wakefield - reported as an air leak.

Now seems to have stopped around Hare Park. The on board announcement on the XC behind it claimed the 1611 was going into a loop to allow the 1640 to pass.
