1V54 0632 Dundee - Newquay

The Summer Saturday Dundee to Newquay service is off to a good start- NOT.
Instead of the expected HST, a Voyager has turned up this morning- and a four car (220016) at that, all the way.
RTT showed it booked as an HST however the XC booking engine has always shown a Voyager. When I tweeted XC a couple of weeks ago they also confirmed it to be booked as an HST.
Most disappointed as this journey was planned to be the highlight of our latest ALR. #twoupsethstfans

Only booked an HST on a Friday. RTT only shows a timing load and not booked traction.

Although 1V56 which is the train you're on IS booked an HST so I am guessing there was a set swap.

We are on 1V54. Has been an HST on previous Summer Saturdays.
1V56 is the 0750 GLC-PNZ.
XC have just tweeted back to say it is a Voyager instead of an HST due to engineering works.
Assume this is because of works tomorrow near Cheltenham which would prevent the HST returning North - 1S53 terminates Gloucester.

Also like today the XC website brings up a Voyager when booking seats, and it appears that next week's train is already full.

Again, RTT does not show what is diagrammed. It shows what timings are used. If it's been altered STP they wouldn't bother to change it.

The clue is in the wording: "timed for" and "pathed as", not "booked for"

I feel so sorry for all those poor people having to travel on such appalling rolling stock as a voyager for such a long distance.
I hope there is a chiropractor on board for all the damaged backs and legs that people will suffer after being cramped in the a voyagers straitjacket seats. Of course there will be more staring than siting. The buffet car(Ho ho) won't get round the train and the lavatories will be inaccessible because people will be standing in them.
Gosh we really have a rail network to be proud of.

They should be grateful they have a service! A Voyager is better than nothing!

OOC just looked up the total dwell time for 1V54 (public timing) - 70 minutes. Newquay to Dundee (1S49) - 88 minutes.

Oh for goodness sake, Voyagers aren't that bad, add an extra carriage of standard class accommodation and they would be fine..

Indeed, and there will probably be very few passengers doing the entire journey (just over 12 hours!)
