Any 1st Gen DMU drivers out there?. I'm a learner DMU driver on the Cambrian, interested in driving tips, links, mechanical topics, driving memories and all things 1st Gen DMU.

Is that a preserved railway or on the main line?

Given the reference to 1st gen DMUs, I'd take an educated guess that the railway in question is in fact the Cambrian Railway Society at Oswestry.

There was an interesting section on the 'Railcar' website, but that's currently unavailable. I don't know a great deal about them myself, but I'm sure I could direct any specific questions to my driving colleagues on the GCR!

I'm sure the people at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway would be happy to chat to you and give some tips.

(I imagine if they would let you to drive one of their DMUs they'd charge you - they do have to make a living)
