1st Class staff travel

Evening All,

Currently hold TOCNE priv card and TOC's own staff pass. Consider myself lucky to have 1st class facilities on both documents for self and live-in partner.

Is there a pay point/grade at which all/most TOCs provide 1st class facilities, or is this decided on a toc-by-tic basis?

Long story short, thinking of moving to role at VT and wondered if their management grades attract 1st class travel? Not a deal breaker in wanting the job but good to know, if anyone has this knowledge...

IIRC, VT give all their managers 1st class travel on their services only.

For national 1st class Priv, your job has to be graded at the equivalent to the old BR MS4 grade.. In modern terms this is generally a "Head of"... or above

As a rule of thumb the "heads of" rule is a good indication in regards to 1st or standard class travel in regards to other operators. Either way it may be worth asking the question before you take the position.
