Does anyone know anything about a potential animal strike?

Cancelled from York
As you say animal strike.

It’s struck a deer between Ryther Viaduct and Selby damn. Presume it has caused damage which prevents it going any further north and needs to return to Doncaster depot.

Customers forward on 1S13 which is alongside at York now.

Edit 13:00- The front valance is damaged and needs removing by a Hitachi fitter. They are in route from Leeds.

Stop orders put in for 1S13 at Northallerton and/or Durham? Next Durham is 1S15 at 1336, but next Northallerton is 1S17 at 1435, unless they agree acceptance with TP/GC.

1S12 is not showing as cancelled.

The Fitter should be arriving on site now, it’s a very short job to remove valance, then service should move forward.

Can’t see any stops on other devices.

Fair enough, if 1S12 is going to continue there's no point taking 1S13 out of course (incidentally I was wondering because a friend of ours is on 1S12 and my wife is picking her up!)

1S12 will continue and terminate at Newcastle.
1E22 will start from Newcastle.

Our friend has been clever and purchased a cheap YRK-NTR TransPennine single since she's almost certainly going to get half, if not all, of her LNER ticket fare back. Should be arriving at NTR around 1330.

Edit: 1S12 has left 53 late, so probably half!

The refund is based on her actual arrival time not that of the train. In this case, though, it would be simpler, and would not be defrauding LNER, to use 1S12's time.

Yes, in this case it will be 50% anyway, as 1S12 arrived 58 late and she arrived 39 late on 1S12's timings.

So she only saved 20 minutes, but on the other hand 1S12's departure time from York was unknown.

Not a great day for the animals with XC being heavily disrupted due to one striking water buffalo (I repeat, water buffalo) in the Elford area north of Tamworth.
