Can anyone confirm the WTT routing for 1M86, 1306 Preston - Nottingham in early 1983.
There's a photo on FLICKR, showing 45117 working the train through Lostock Junction on 25th February 1983.
1M86 was a headcode historically used on Glasgow - Nottingham - St Pancras services all via the S&C. Was this train starting at Preston, and running towards Manchester, a service development?, or something else?

I don't have the TT to hand, but I am certain that this was the successor to the North Country Continental of history, extended from/to Glasgow (and Edinburgh?) in place of a Scotland-Nottingham train pair.
The route was Bolton, Victoria, Philips Park, Ashbury, Hope Valley, Sheffield (reverse? or via Beighton?), Nottingham then to Parkeston.
I used it sometime around 1983-84 Preston-Ely.

EDIT: sorry, wrong timetable year. 82-83 was as @jfollows has stated - though as a small detail the 0953 GLC left Preston at 1236 or 38 and went via Wigan; the low-season version did go via Bolton.

1M86 was 13:06 Preston-Nottingham UNTIL 28 MAY AND FROM 31 MAY TO 25 JUN AND FROM 6 SEP which was otherwise 09:53 Glasgow-Nottingham in the 1982/83 timetable. It was still 1Mxx because it left the LMR and rejoined it through Sheffield.
https://www.branchline.uk/psul/1982-3.pdf gives information on its route, as above, Philips Park-Ashburys and I don't have the WTT for Sheffield area but think it probably reversed at Sheffield. but PSUL E.25 also shows it went Tapton-Beighton-Woodhouse.
