On the 30th and 31st, the usual morning FGW service from Carmarthen to London Paddington has been altered and ran ECS Landore to Carmarthen, then ECS from Carmarthen to Ferryside, where the service begins. What is the reason for this, it seems a bit strange?

Well today FGW's site says 'a train fault'

Pure speculation - the cab at one end wasn't serviceable so it ran round the triangle to be the right way round. Still gives a problem at Paddington though

Yesterday it was just described as a GSMR fault but today was described as a GSMR network fault. The train was unable to pick up GSMR signal at Carmarthen so had to run ECS to Ferryside where it could.
