Could someone satisfy my curiosity please. Tonight 1H09 was unable to call at Grantham "due to a technical issue" but was able to complete the rest of its stopping pattern to Beverley. No other services were affected. What is the most likely reason for this? Thank you.

It's best to give some context rather than simply quoting a reporting number!

I would assume this may relate to unit availability today on Hull Trains. Looks like only 2 units been out all day, and I wonder if (given the cancellation of service prior) the priority has been Doncaster and beyond passengers (with acceptance for Grantham on LNER).
Edited to add
Looks like this is a short term plan adjustment (which I assume is to remove the Grantham stop). They did similar in the morning with 1A92 (https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:W04503/2026-08-18/detailed#allox_id=0) the second service of the day running fast through Grantham (after the first service was cancelled). I think both tend to be 10 car as well.

1A92 did the same this morning. Both running 5v10 coaches so assume an overcrowding mitigation.
