Hi, I am trying to get from Stevenage to London very early in the morning on Wednesday 9 May 2024, the day after the Great Northern / Thameslink strike. GTR has a very late start up on Wednesday morning. The first service shown in National Rail Enquiries is a 0656 via the Hertford Loop arriving Kings Cross 0806, which is too late for me. However, Real Time Trains shows an unadvertised LNER express headcode 1G00 departing Stevenage at 0510 for Kings Cross, https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:N16706/2024-05-08/detailed. Would members of the public be able to travel on this train (with appropriate tickets)?

Unlikely, the service group code for this train corresponds to "GNER EMPTY COACHING STOCK".

Your best bet would be to use FlixBus - there is a 06:15 departure to London, stopping at Finchley Road (07:10) and Victoria (07:45).

Suspect it's a 'staff train' to get crew into work, not for passenger use.
