Expect chaos today at Sheffield - line to the south affected by landslip, line to Meadowhall has a broken down train (derailment maybe ?)

May know more when I get to Sheffield on the replacement bus from Meadowhall

Ah, train stuck on viaduct next to Fred Mulley Road - on the northbound line by the looks of it

I'm mystified as to why a failed train has apparently blocked the route in both directions. Unless it's staggered across some points or fallen off or something......

Quite possibly because it requires people to work on the tracks of the viaduct to fix it. Blocking both lines may well be the only safe way to do this, if there is limited clearance/no safe refuge for workers on the line. Just a guess on my part, though.
