1973 Stock Un-Refurbished

Hi Everyone,

im making the 1973 stock un-refurb stock for the aldwych branch that Kelvin Liu is making.

i thought i might show you how its coming along,

Also its a MSTS cab view not a photorealistic view

No units of 73TS remain unrefurb.

There is however a 3-car 72TS MkI (ex-Northern line) which is down there and used to do a rusty rail working every month.

I found that site http://www.underground-history.co.uk of great interest and to anyone who has an interest in the disused stations of the LU I highly recommend you pay a visit to this site - it's a very interesting read!

Did you cry about the '83 stock then? Did they all get scrapped, or are there still some lying about at various depots? Can never remember.

No John why do you always have to be so shrude , Ive never really seen a 1983 apart from video 125s Picaddilly and Met

I agree they all haven't been scrapped I saw some in the sidings near uxbridge during a video 125 video , LULs old stock has gone as far as york and salsbury! There just like a mini version of a D stock in the cab Pictures!

LOL, funny where those things turn up, shame they weren't really suited to the line they ran on. I wonder why they didn't get snapped up by IL to replace the '38 stock?

There is no point in having a non-unified fleet. I suspect IL will try to snap up some 72TS or perhaps ask LUL to put on a few extra trains onto the next order for non-ATO trains.

I think it would be unlikely that IL would want the 72's, because even the 72's are much more complicated trains to maintain than the 38's, and the IL don't have the skills nor the equipment necessary to maintain them. I sincerely hope that when the 38's 'give up' it won't be the end of the IL.

They're gonna need new trains, and I've heard from inside Stagecoach SWT that they are investigating the other possibilities... those being light rail (DLR-esque) or some more LUL stock, specifically 72TS.

i dont know if anyone is interested but i believe that the 83's have left the rails forever and the ony ones i know of now are the ones on top of a building in east london and the one in the lt museum. they were the tube stock version of the D stock in every way.
