1S81 20:50 Carlisle - Perth was a lovely train, pretty much guaranteed a "Roarer" (class 81-85) ex Carlisle, then a class 27 ex Mossend. It connected at Perth into both the northbound Glasgow QS / Edinburgh overnight and the 01:05 to Aberdeen. You were pretty much committed to doing an overnight once you joined 1S81.
