185 at Preston

Does anyone know why a 185 has been going to Preston Station for the past week as it’s been almost 4 years since they stopped sending it on the west coast?

Class 185 at Preston

I got to Preston this morning on 9m52 0852 ex Edinburgh and a class 185 was in platform 6. Any idea what it was doing? I thought they no longer ventured onto the West Coast route.
