I might be able to see it on the return trip, just depends on when it's going to leave Kings Cross.

Thanks for the timings, :)

Hi,

A really good day out thanks to all the Grand Central staff on board who made sure that all the VIPs were left wanting for nothing. The outward 1Z61 went week with an on-time arrival into Kings Cross. The nnaming went well thanks to all involved at the London end. It was also a great plasure to meet Jim & Rosie Wight, son and daughter to Alf 'James Herriot' Wight, they were very chatty and a pleasure to have met. The return run was 2 minutes late off 'The Cross' and although this time was made signal checks saw us about 10mins late upon departure from York. Having helped the on-baord crew cleaning up I left the train at Northallerton.

Pics at http://www.clagmonster.fotopic.net including some 'rare' ones of the naming ceremony.

Thanks again to all involved for a top day out!

Anyone know when the 180s started in service with GC?

I clocked one heading north between P'boro and Grantham on Sat 25th at around 4.15pm....

...was this in passenger service, or on route learning or similar?

Think it started last week as i saw it a couple of times at Peterborough. Dont know about the damage but it may be out for a little while after its collision damage earlier after hitting that man

They haven't entered passenger traffic just yet. It shouldn't be long though. Yesterday 180106 formed the 0918 ex-Sunderland 'Ghost Path' on driver training duties.
