Does anyone in here have any photos of any of the repainted 172s?
The first image is 334 at Tyseley, second is 331 at Worcester Foregate St prior to any branding being applied. Both my copyright.Does anyone in here have any photos of any of the repainted 172s?
I'm not aware of any 'new new' info screens being fitted to the 172/2s, 172/3s and/or 172/0s, but these subclasses of units were fitted in 2019 with two different types of high-resolution, full colour-capable internal screens - 'stretched bar'-type ones (in the original ceiling-mounted housings), and 'computer monitor'-type ones (where you'd expect them to be).Wasn't aware of the repaints until I was down there yesterday, looks great, the gold has always looked off, its a change seeing them so clean, i had one with windows so foul they seem frosted. I also noticed they have new info screens, how long have they been around?
Aka, new screens xxI'm not aware of any 'new new' info screens being fitted to the 172/2s, 172/3s and/or 172/0s, but these subclasses of units were fitted in 2019 with two different types of high-resolution, full colour-capable internal screens - 'stretched bar'-type ones (in the original ceiling-mounted housings), and 'computer monitor'-type ones (where you'd expect them to be).
They’re still like that yes. Ridiculously tatty BUT, I like the original LED PIS as the LCD scrolling text on the other 172s scrolls INFURIATINGLY slowly, and I also like the cup holdersWhen the 172/1s were acquired in 2021, they kept the original 'dot matrix' screens and ex-Chiltern interior for years (I don't know if they're still like that) but they're only 4 units in a fleet of 39, so some people have said "the 172s" without realising that they were only referring to the 35 units that were refurbished and had the new internal screens fitted in the late 2010s.
