Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to read. In a nutshell, here's my situation:
My partner did not tell me about any of this until today when the Magistrates' Court Requisition arrived. I am a law student, so I was quite shocked.
In Aug '23, he was caught using my photocard Oyster, which I did not know about, and was told he would be fined £175. He was okay to pay.
Today, his Requisition totals nearly £1,000 plus £400 for costs. They are accusing him of making 171 journeys on my Oyster which, of course, he did not do.
I happen to have proof of this, as my location is archived every day via my phone, of which I have 3 years of records.
I have spoken to some 'specialist' solicitors and they are quoting near £1,000 for preliminary services.
Does anybody have any advice on what to do here?
We are a young couple just starting out in the City and do not have £1,500 to spare to plead Guilty, never mind over £1,000 for solicitors.
Many thanks in advance.
