Hello,

Just a question about how to carry out the door test for 170s on the platform side. In our training we were told we had to press the blue close (all doors) button before switching local door to close for the local door to actually close. So when performing the door test on the platform side, is it not possible to have the local door open when we open the other doors so we can watch them open safely?

Thanks for any guidance

Where I work (not Northern) the door test procedure was exactly the same for platform side as non platform side. Of course you'd test the non platform side first to avoid people getting on and falling onto the track. I would speak to your instructor/trainer if i were you.

The press the close button is a myth, just do it like any other door test except by the time you get to the front the back doors will have auto closed. Open, close, open, check cross feed and carry on, and close from the other end of the train
